Often I’m asked how I’ve come upon something or have been able to obtain a certain outcome. Some ideas start as a melody I can’t escape or maybe even a narrative that wants to be expressed; the forms vary depending on the need.
Is this feeling based? Am I answering or asking a question?
What color should I use? Who could I ask for help?
Do I really need that piece of tech? Is this for me or for the world to see?
The material usually follows; maybe it’s a program I need to use to execute the idea or a simple sketch with notations for later revision. The process could be short and sweet if the end result is more manageable. In other cases, at least for me, one idea could take a few weeks to a month minimum- and that’s just the first draft.
The process is not uniform. It’s like water: shifting and shaping itself into whatever it needs to become.
